It sounds as though a Zombieland spinoff series might be in the works over at Sony Pictures, which I think is a great idea!
This news comes to us from Giant Freakin Robot, and it sounds like something that makes sense.
There have been two Zombieland movies.
Ruben Fleischer directed both Zombieland movies, and he then went on to direct the first Venom movie and the recent Uncharted film.
I loved the first Zombieland film, but I wasn’t so keen on the second one, Zombieland: Double Tap.
That said, it introduced some interesting new characters, and specifically Zoey Deutch’s character, Madison.
These new reports of a Zombieland spinoff series come after it was suggested by Fleischer that a series focusing on Deutch’s character should be made.

Here’s what Fleischer had to say about a continuation of the Zombieland franchise after the second movie (via The Hollywood Reporter):
When we were making Zombieland 2 it was a running joke among us all that, “We got to do this again in another 10 years and see where it’s evolved to.” We’ll see come 2029 if that’s something we’re still thinking about. But I would be so thrilled to get the gang back together and see where their lives have led in the last 10 years.
Fleischer then also went on to reveal that he would to make a Zombieland spinoff starring Zoey Deutch.
He said:
A spin-off that will showcase Zoey Deutch’s character, Madison.
This is something that the director has continued to say to this day that he would love to do.
Fleiischer stated:
Madison, to this day, is one of my all-time favourite characters, so I’d be thrilled to see what she’s up to in the world of the zombie post-apocalypse
It sounds like he and Sony Pictures might have come to some sort of agreement, if Giant Freakin Robot’s report is to be believed.
