Netflix has revealed that they’re making a Norse mythology anime series with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder.
It’s been revealed that Zack Snyder and Netflix will be working together again. They obviously enjoy a very close working relationship.
The director is working on a whole slew of anime projects with Netflix and it’s just been revealed that he’s going to be one based on Norse mythology.
Variety reports that he’s set to co-create and executive the anime series which is going to be set in the world of Norse mythology.
News on what will happen in this series is very thin, non-existant to be exact, however, we do know that he’ll be creating the series alongside his DC Comics movie buddy, Jay Oliva.
Oliva worked as a storyboard artist on all the DC Comics projects Snyder has been part of, and they seem to really enjoy working together.
He’s also directed a number of DC animated films such as Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Batman: Assault on Arkham,Batman Vs. Robin, Justice League Dark, and Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox.
John Derderian, who’s the head of anime programming at Netflix, had this to say in a statement about the new series: “Zack Snyder’s innovation in visual storytelling has pushed the industry forward and established him as one of the most distinctive filmmakers of his generation.
“We are beyond excited to partner with him and his exceptional team to bring the iconic characters and stories of Norse mythology to life in his inimitable style.”
Snyder is currently hard at work on his upcoming picture, Army of the Dead, which he’s doing for Netflix. He’s writing, directing and producing the zombie movie. It really does seem as though the director has found his feet with the streaming giants.
