Zack Snyder Has Defended That Martha Scene In Batman V Superman

Zack Snyder has revealed that he actually really liked the Martha scene in his Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice movie despite fans hating it.

Do you guys remember that scene? The moment when Batman realises that Superman’s mum has the same name as his?

Yep, their mums are both called Martha. Then Batman stopped from killing Superman and they became best friends.

When Batman V Superman came out, I physically laughed at that scene.

However, Zack Snyder has come out and defended that scene, despite the fact that fans really didn’t like it.

Here’s what Zack Snyder said during a recent live commentary he did of the movie on Vero (via CinemaBlend):

He’s basically turned into the murderer of his parents. He’s allowing them to kill Martha. He’s blinded by his hatred. He’s become the thing he hates.

So, what Snyder’s saying here is that the fact that Superman’s mother is also called Martha reminds Batman of why he became the Caped Crusader.

He was reminded of his mother’s death and has become everything he hates – a murderer.

That said, Batman didn’t seem to mind murdering people before that point in the movie.

I really thought this movie was a bit rubbish.

Maybe I need to rewatch Batman V Superman.
