It’s been revealed that Wonder Woman 3 has been cancelled by Warner Bros Discovery, which comes as a bit of a shock. This news was revealed in a recent article by The Hollywood Reporter. They revealed that DC Studios’ new leads, James Gunn and Peter Safran.
According to the outlet’s sources, Warner Bros Discovery has decided that the movie “is not moving forward and is considered dead in its current incarnation.” The question is, why did they decide to cancel the movie after all this time? Well, one of the big things to happen in the last few months is that DC Studios has recently appointed new leads in James Gunn and Peter Safran, and since then, there have been a lot of changes.
They are currently hard at work putting together a presentation to show to Warner Bros Discovery’s CEO, David Zaslav, and that’s when they will reveal what they think should be their upcoming slate.

The Hollywood Reporter’s article then went on to state that the two heads of DC Studios, alongside Warner Bros. Pictures co-chairs and co-CEOs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, broke the news to Patty Jenkins, citing that “as [the project] stood… [it] did not fit in with the new [but still unfolding] plans.”
This makes sense since Gunn and Safran are planning to make a new and coherent universe. Having Wonder Woman 3, which would star Gal Gadot and be directed by Patty Jenkins would be very confusing to moviegoers. This all comes after it’s been revealed that they might also be looking at recasting the Justice League actors. This will bring a definitive end to the SnyderVerse, which I know would really anger a lot of DC fans out there.

There’s actually been a ton of news about the DCU’s future in the last 24 hours. We’ve also heard that Jason Momoa might be quitting the role of Aquaman after the release of Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom. There have also been rumours that he might be switching roles and playing Lobo in the DCU’s future.
