Wonder Woman 1984 Spoilers: Steve Trevor’s Return Revealed

WARNING: Spoilers for Wonder Woman 1984, and in particular what’s going on with Steve Trevor, in this article!

Many people have been left scratching their heads and wondering how on Earth Steve Trevor (played by Chris Pine) will return to the DCEU in Wonder Woman 1984.

We already know thanks to stills Warner Bros. Pictures released that Steve Trevor will be coming back from the dead.

He died in the first Wonder Woman movie, but it looks like somehow he’s going to be back, and we might have just found out how that will happen.

So, this all comes from a recent Wonder Woman 1984 test screening and someone then took to Reddit and leaked the whole plot of the movie.

This was then reported on by Cosmic Book News, who revealed that the reactions to this Wonder Woman 1984 test screening were “mixed” and certain members of the audience said he movie was, “really goofy, really campy and simple, with others offering it’s too slow and plot-heavy”.

The test screening, which was held in October supposedly, didn’t go down all that well with members of the audience.

There were also some key plot details leaked from this screening, which sound really strange indeed.

According to Cosmic Book New’s plot summary, Pedro Pascal’s Maxwell Lord is in possession of some sort of magic rock which gives him the ability to grant people’s wishes (yeah, sounds really odd already).

Yet, these wishes come with a price. So, this is how Wonder Woman ends up getting Steve Trevor back, as she accidentally wishes for him to come back from the dead, explaining how he’s alive in this movie.

Yet, Steve returns in the body of another man and only Diana can see him as he did in the previous movie (looking like Chris Pine).

Sounds like Steve Trevor’s going to have an interesting time in Wonder Woman 1984

However, in exchange for this wish, Wonder Woman loses most of her powers, which leaves her vulnerable to things like bullets, knives… basically all sharp and pointy weapons.

This is also how Kristen Wiig’s character, Barbara Minera, ends up with the powers of a cheetah. She wishes for them in order to fulfil her lifelong dream to become a hero like Wonder Woman.

So there you have it. That’s how Steve Trevor is going to return to the DCEU, and it sounds like he might not be around for that much longer as, according to these plot leaks, he dies at the end of Wonder Woman 1984.

Wow, they really love to kill off Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor.
