Wonder Woman 1984 will be hitting cinemas in 2020 and I could not be more excited for this film which will see the likes of Gal Gadot and Chris Pine return to their respective DC Comics characters.
The film will be directed by Patty Jenkins who also made the first film. She also wrote the film’s script, so it’ll be very much ‘un film de Patty Jenkins’.
The film will also see newcomers to the Wonder Woman universe, namely Kristen Wiig who’ll be playing Cheetah and Pedro Pascal as Maxwell Lord.
We have already had our first look as Pascal as Lord, but we still haven’t seen anything of Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah.
She’ll be one of the villains of this new Wonder Woman movie, and she’s a pretty big deal in the comic books.
Cheetah is one of the only villains who can go toe-to-toe with Wonder Woman in a fight, and I’m hoping they’re going to do something similar in the upcoming movie.

We’ve now had our first look at Wiig’s Cheetah thanks to some leaked images of new Wonder Woman 1984 merchandise.
This image comes courtesy of Wonder Woman News’ Twitter account, and it seems like this merch is on sale at San Paolo Comic Con which is going on right now.
It certainly looks like Kristen Wiig has put her stamp on this version of Cheetah which means that she might be an incredibly compelling screen presence and perhaps slightly left-field.
Meanwhile, it’s looking like we might get the trailer Wonder Woman 1984 as early at this Sunday (December 8th) which would be a lovely birthday present for me (it’s my birthday on Sunday, just in case you didn’t get that).
