Friends is easily one of the most popular TV shows of all time, and there’s a good reason for it: it’s just a very good show. Yes, it might have aged a bit over the years, and people love to complain about some of the jokes in the series.
However, there’s no denying the fact that millions of people around the globe still want to tune in to watch Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler and Joey’s antics in New York City.
As it stands, the show is available on different streaming platforms in different territories. So, it can be somewhat confusing if you want to try and watch it because, based on your location in the world, the show will be on a different streaming platform.
However, there is a really cool VPN called PureVPN which could save you a lot of hassle and a lot of money if you’re interested in bingeing all ten seasons of Friends for as little money as possible.
However, rather than spending money on yet another streaming service, there is a solution for you to be able to watch Friends for free (sort of) no matter where you are in the world.
Where is Friends available to stream now?

So, if you live in the United States, Friends will be available for you to watch on HBO Max, the show’s current home over there and anywhere else in the world where the streaming service is available. However, if you don’t want to subscribe to HBO Max because of whatever reason, then there’s another thing you can do.
You can sign up to PureVPN, and in doing so, you will be granted access to different locations all over the globe. To be honest, we should all be using VPNs in order to protect our data from spying eyes.
However, another benefit of using a VPN is that you can access a website from another territory anywhere in the world, and there’s one territory that has all seasons of Friends ready and waiting to be streamed.

The streaming platform I’m talking about is Netflix. Netflix used to have all ten seasons of Friends in most territories. However, when HBO Max was started, they thought it would be a good idea to bring the Warner Bros. Television show back to their platform, which is understandable.
That means that if you live in a place such as the United States or the Netherlands, then you wouldn’t be able to watch the show anymore on Netflix. However, in other places, such as France, you can still stream the show, which is excellent news.
Here are the countries where Friends is still available to stream on Netflix
So, these are the countries in which Friends is still available to stream on Netflix:

As mentioned above, the Netherlands is the only European country in which Friends isn’t available to watch on Netflix. That’s because HBO Max is available in the country, and that’s now the show’s home in the Netherlands. However, it has been revealed that since the show was taken off the platform in the Netherlands, there has been a huge spike in people pirating the show in the country.
So, if you already have a Netflix subscription, which most people do nowadays, then you can open up your PureVPN dashboard, set the location to France, head on over to Netflix and start streaming Friends for free! It’s that easy!
Is there a ‘free’ free way of watching Friends?

Yes, I know many of you might be saying, “Well, that’s not free. I still need to be a Netflix subscriber and subscribe to PureVPN.” That is true. However, I would argue that you need a good VPN to ensure you’re safe from hackers and people, organisations and governments that want to steal and track your data!
Also, I think having a subscription to one streaming service is better than having multiple ones. I do believe that there’s a large number of people out there who subscribe to Netflix and aren’t sure what to watch on it. Well, now you know that you can use that subscription to watch one of the best sitcoms of all time without having to fork out more money for another streaming platform.
It’s a ‘win-win’ situation in my eyes. The only way you can really watch Friends for ‘free’ is if you have the DVD or Blu-ray copies of all ten seasons (which I do have myself) or if you go via more nefarious means, which I cannot condone here on Small Screen.
