It’s being reported that Marvel Studios is thinking of bringing in a new young version of Tony Stark into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
This report comes to us from Giant Freakin Robot, and I do have some reservations about this supposed scoop.
But before I get into those, let’s go into what they’re saying is going on behind closed doors at Marvel Studios.
Well, GFR is claiming that Marvel is thinking of recasting Tony Stark.
However, they’re not just going to recast the character.
According to GFR’s sources, they’re also thinking of bringing in a younger version of Tony Stark into the MCU.
Why would they want to do this, you ask? Good question.
Honestly, I have absolutely no idea why they would want to do this.
Maybe to still have Tony Stark be around in the MCU, without having to pay Robert Downey Jr. his ludicrous salary?
That could potentially be the reason.

However, I personally think this would be a bit of a silly thing to do.
I’m pretty certain that Downey Jr. will be returning to the MCU at some point.
And, they’ve already made a younger version of Stark in one of the MCU movies – forgive me, I’m forgetting which one.
So, what do I think about this news? I think that the idea might be bouncing around Marvel’s offices, but it’s not really a serious one.
It just wouldn’t make much sense to do a movie or a TV series about Tony’s younger years.
The reason: because he was a dick when he was younger.
He was selling arms to the highest bidder and we saw him grow and become a better person throughout the MCU.
It would be detrimental to his character to go back into his past – at least, that’s what I think.
