Tom Hardy’s Venom To Cameo In Sony’s Morbius Movie

I’m going to come out and say it, I wasn’t a huge fan of Venom as a movie. That said, I really did like Tom Hardy as both Eddie Brock and Venom. He was much better than the Venom we got in Spider-Man 3.

There are new reports that Tom Hardy’s Venom could cameo in Morbius, which means we’ll get to see more of him in the role, which is good news.

We already know that Jared Leto is going to be playing the lead in this Sony Pictures production. He’ll be playing Dr. Michael Morbius, whose experiments end up turning him into a living Vampire.

It’s actually a really sad story in the comics, and Morbius often flits between being a hero and a villain, much like Venom.

It seems as though Sony Pictures is quite keen on making these anti-hero movies with pretty big names as the leads of their films.

The reports that Tom Hardy’s Venom will cameo in We Got This Covered, who’s source claims that this will be an attempt on Sony’s behalf to “inject their Marvel universe with the same kind of synergy as their counterparts in the MCU.”

They’re hoping that by having Venom turn up briefly might help to bind this cinematic universe together, a bit like Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe did.

There are also reports that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will make a cameo appearance in Venom 2, which will also help to kickstart this Sony Cinematic Universe or SCU for short.

Having Venom and Spider-Man cameo in each others’ movies makes sense as far as Sony is concerned, but it’s not sure whether Marvel Studios will actually allow this to happen because it could confuse people regarding the MCU, since it would mean that technically Venom and Morbius are also part of it.

I’m pretty sure they’ll find a way to do all of this properly and make it cohesive (cough, cough).

As for Sony’s Morbius movie, it’s already got a very impressive cast, with the likes of Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris and Tyrese Gibson all starring in the movie alongside Jared Leto.

It’s currently being directed by Daniel Espinosa and is set to his theatres on July 31st, 2020.
