Tom Hardy has shared a behind-the-scenes picture which gives us a little peek at what his Eddie Brock will look like in his upcoming Venom movie.
Tom Hardy will be playing Eddie Brock in the upcoming Venom movie, which is being made by Sony Pictures without the help of Marvel Studios. This is very exciting news for us fans of the anti-hero Venom. There’s certainly room for this kind of character in the comic book movie genre and we’ve seen with Deadpool that people want to see these sorts of films. Venom will undoubtedly be a darker affair than Deadpool, yet having an actor of Tom Hardy’s calibre in the lead role makes it a very promising prospect. Hardy recently shared an image on Twitter confirming the first day of shooting, and now he’s at it again, this time giving us a brief glimpse at his version of Eddie Brock. Check out Hardy’s Brock in the image below.

Eddie Brock was depicted before on-screen by Topher Grace in Spider-Man 3 and it wasn’t very well received. It wasn’t Grace’s fault per se, that said, he did lack the bulk to play the character, who’s meant to be the complete antithesis of Peter Parker’s Spider-Man. Brock’s Venom is a huge muscular and dangerous being. We never really got that from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3. Yet, Tom Hardy’s version of Eddie Brock seems much closer to that of the comics, although he has more tattoos, and with him being the film’s main protagonist, we’ll surely be getting very familiar with his depiction of the character.
