The White Lotus Season 3’s Location Revealed

The White Lotus Season 3 is coming to HBO Max in the (hopefully) not-so-distant future, and the third season’s location has finally been revealed. But before we get into the weeds of this story, I wanted to talk a little bit about this incredible series.

The White Lotus is easily one of the best shows on the air right now. The second season, which was set on the beautiful Italian island of Sicily, was just incredible.

The series was created, written and directed by Mike White, and he’s already revealed that he’s hard at work on the third season. However, until now, we haven’t known where the third season would take place.

There were so many possibilities, but it seems as though they have finally landed on a location, and it’s a pretty amazing one.

So, according to Variety, the show’s next season will likely take place in Thailand. They still don’t know where exactly in Thailand, but apparently, location scouts are looking at the four Four Seasons in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, and the Golden Triangle as possible locations for the series’ third season.

This all comes after writer, creator and director Mike White already hinted at the overarching theme of the upcoming season last December in a behind-the-scenes video for HBO. Here’s what he had to say on the matter:

The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex. I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.

One of the big questions about the third season I have is what could happen in it. I’m sure that it’ll all take place at a beautiful resort/hotel in Thailand. I actually think that setting would be perfect for the upcoming season of the show.

Thailand is an interesting place. It’s beautiful, but it’s also one of those countries which are visited by a lot of rich tourists who tend to just stay in one glorious hotel or resort. Thailand is also a country that suffers from poverty.

That could be a fascinating theme to explore in the third season. It was touched upon a bit in the first season, which took place in Hawaii. However, I think they could really get into the weeds of this theme in the third season.

Another question that people have about the third season is will any characters from the previous two seasons return for the third season. That’s not such an easy question to answer.

The only actor who returned for Season 2 was Jennifer Coolidge, and if you watched the second season, then you’ll know that she won’t be coming back for Season 3. She was wonderful in both seasons of the show, and she ended up winning an Emmy for her performance in Season 2.

I thought that Emmy was well-deserved, and I have a feeling that another actor involved in the third season of the show will end up winning an Emmy for their performance in it.
