It looks like the Russo brothers – Anthony and Joe – might end up directing another movie for Marvel Studios after all, which might come as a bit of a shock.
Why do I say that this news might come as a bit of a shock?
Well, it all has to do with the fact that Anthony and Joe Russo weren’t best pleased with the way Disney handled the whole Scarlett Johansson lawsuit.
They felt that the company did wrong by her and they are very close to the actor.
They actually said that they weren’t sure whether they could work with Disney again because of the way they treated Scar Jo.
Well, now that the whole lawsuit thing has been settled, it seems as though Disney and the Russo brothers are back on good terms.

How do we know this to be the case?
Well, in the new book called The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it revealed the Russos’ “softly retired” from the MCU after Avengers: Endgame in order to make movies under their own banner (AGBO).
However, the book says that “there’s an expectation that someday they’ll work with Marvel Studios again.”
In the book, Joe Russo revealed that Marvel Studios is made up of the best collaborators they’ve had in Hollywood.
Here’s what he said in the book (via ComicBook.com):
We laugh a lot, and that’s really important. We all have a very similar sense of humor, and we spent a lot of time making jokes with each other and enjoying eahc other’s company during very long, difficult hours—whether in the story room, on set, or in the edit room. Everyone’s very supportive and encouraging of one another. You can’t undertake something as significant as the two most expensive movies ever made, back-to-back, without that kind of environment. You just wouldn’t survive. There’s no other way through it than with warmth and laughter.

Anthony then went on to add yet another reason why they love working with Marvel Studios so much.
It has to do Marvel Studios’ commitment to the comic book source material.
It starts with their very specific passion for the material. That’s a big part of it. Because the connectivity they have between what they do, what they say, what they think, and the actual work—it’s all in synchronicity. It’s all connected. For as hard as these movies were to make, the process with them could not have been easier.
