There’s a petition to get Gina Carano rehired as Cara Dune in Lucasfilm’s hit series, The Mandalorian, and it’s now hit 50K signatures. You can go and find the petition over at Change.org.
It seems as though there’s a petition for everything these days, however, some get more love than others on the Internet. It seems as though one of the petitions that’s getting a lot of love is the one calling for Lucasfilm to rehire Gina Carano as Cara Dune in the Star Wars shows.
This comes after the actor and former MMA fighter was fired from the show after sharing an offensive post on social media. Lucasfilm then revealed that they would no longer be working with Carano and called her post “abhorrent”.

So, Carano’s firing got a huge backlash on social media and people have been getting the hashtag #WeLoveGinaCarano trending on Twitter. However, it was then revealed that Carano had also been dropped by her talent agency, which isn’t a good sign.
However, it seems like she’ll still be getting work. It was announced that she would be making a movie with Ben Shaprio’s conservative website, The Daily Wire, which is an interesting choice to say the least.
Yet, the issue remains. What do you do with Cara Dune. The character was an important part of The Mandalorian and it had been said that the announced Star Wars show, Rangers Of The New Republic was going to feature Cara Dune and she was going to be a main character in the show.
Will they end up bringing Gina Carano back? I’m not so sure to be honest. Will they recast the role? Maybe, but I’m also skeptical on that front. There have been some names thrown out there as potential replacements: Lucy Lawless and Lana Parrilla have been getting a lot of love for the roles.
