The reaction to The Falcon And The Winter Soldier has been somewhat mixed. That also includes the reaction to Wyatt Russell as the new Captain America in the MCU.
Now, he’s really playing US Agent, aka John Walker, and he’s a very different version of Captain America from Steve Rogers.
That’s one thing that I think The Falcon And The Winter Soldier has got spot on.
It’s very evident that John Walker is very different from Steve, and it’s rather alarming.
Some fans have done the wrong thing and spread hate towards Wyatt Russell on the Internet.
However, it sounds like Wyatt doesn’t really mind and he is actually quite flattered by all the hate aimed at his portrayal of Captain America.
He revealed this during an interview on Variety.

I don’t have social media, but I’ve gotten some of the stuff sent to me from friends that were just too good not to see. The best one is the ‘Up’ guy with the helmet on. It’s f*cking unbelievable. I mean, whoever did that deserves an award of some kind.
Wyatt then went on to add:
It’s flattering. They just hate the guy. They just hate him! It was fun to be the Marvel punching bag for a little while.
