The Matrix 4’s cast is gearing up to be one of the best casts ever assembled for a Hollywood movie and they’ve just added Mindhunter’s Jonathan Groff to the film’s cast.
The film will see the likes of Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity.
The Matrix 4 will also feature Aquaman and Watchmen actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
It’s rumoured that he might play a young Morpheus, but it’s not confirmed as of yet.
The films will also star Jada Pinkett Smith who’ll be returning as Niobe, and they’ll all be joined by Jessica Henwick and Neil Patrick Harris.
It’s rumoured that Harris will play the villain in the movie, which I really want to see.
The Matrix 4 adds Mindhunter’s Jonathan Groff
Harris is well-known for playing more comedic roles in shows like How I Met Your Mother and A Series Of Unfortunate Events.
However, he showed that he can be more serious in Gone Girl, and I actually think he was really good in that movie.
As for Groff’s role in The Matrix 4, it’s being kept under wraps, however, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him play an agent in a suit, which wouldn’t be miles away from his Mindhunter character.
The film’s director, Lana Wachowski has revealed that she’s committed to assembling a diverse, inclusive cast, and Groff is the second openly gay actor to join The Matrix 4’s cast after Harris.
The Matrix 4 is currently scheduled for release in 2022.
