People seem to have been very taken with Baby Yoda in the new Disney Plus series, The Mandalorian, but seems as though Werner Herzog might be the character’s biggest fan.
Herzog plays a character only referred to as The Client in the new Disney Plus Star Wars TV show, and he’s the one behind the Mandalorian picking up Baby Yoda in the first place.
Anyway, whilst filming this new show, the crew were thinking of replacing the puppet mini Yoda for a CGI version of the character instead.
It was revealed that in between takes, the crew were going to remove the puppet and do a shot without so that they could add in CGI later on.
This was not taken very well by Herzog who then branded the crew as “cowards”.
It was reported by Vanity Fair that he yelled: “You are cowards.” He then added: “Leave it.”
Werner Herzog really loves that Baby Yoda

This reaction is probably going to go down in Hollywood history, and it’s not the first time Herzog has revealed his love for this new infant Star Wars character.
“I have seen it on the set. And it’s heartbreaking! It’s heartbreakingly beautiful,” Herzog told Variety on The Mandalorian’s world premiere red carpet. “It looked absolutely convincing. It made you cry when you saw it.”
Yeah, so Herzog really loves Baby Yoda, which is really amusing. He’s not the kind of person one might think of being a lover of cute and cuddling things.
He’s the man who once said: “Look into the eyes of a chicken and you will see real stupidity. It is a kind of bottomless stupidity, a fiendish stupidity. They are the most horrifying, cannibalistic and nightmarish creatures in the world.”
This story just makes me love Werner Herzog even more and I can’t wait to see more of him in The Mandalorian.
