The Last Of Us Season 2 To Be Released In Early 2025

The Last Of Us Season 2 is coming, and it’s been revealed by one of the HBO Max show’s stars that the second season should be released in early 2025, which isn’t too far off now. The first season has been performing very, very well with audiences and critics alike.

The series is based on Naughty Dog’s video games, and it seems as though the second season is going to follow much of watch happened in the second video game, The Last Of Us Part 2. However, even though the game was really well received by critics, there were some players of the games that didn’t love the story in the second game.

There are a bunch of reasons why they didn’t like it all that much. I won’t go into them here. What would be interesting to know is whether the show’s creators will do anything in Season 2 about the story beats in the second game that some fans didn’t like.

Here’s what The Last Of Us star, Bella Ramsay, had to say about the second season’s release date on HBO Max during a recent appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show (via Collider):

It will be a while. I think we’ll probably shoot at the end of this year, beginning of next. So it’ll probably be the end of 2024, early 2025.

This all comes after one of the show’s other stars, Pedro Pascal, revealed the same sort of thing during the press tour for the series. He was talking to Collider, and he mentioned that the second season of The Last of Us would indeed begin production at the end of this year.

While the first instalment of the series focused on adapting the events of the first game, it sounds as though they might be changing things slightly for the second season. The showrunners teased that the plot of the second game would be adapted throughout multiple seasons.

This means that we might get to see a little bit more of Joel and Ellie’s time together before the inevitable happens. Moreover, the fact that the producers want multiple seasons going forward could mean that The Last of Us could be around for the better part of this decade.

The show’s first season has just come to an end, and it seems like it might end up being the best show to be released in 2023. People really, really loved it, and it pretty much blew everybody away.

I cannot wait to see what’s to come next. Full disclosure, I haven’t actually played the second game. I only played the first one. I think I might not play The Last Of Us Part 2 until after the second season is released on HBO Max. I just don’t want anything spoiling my enjoyment of the second season.

Also, it seems as though they are going to add some more detail and story beats that weren’t in the second video game.
