The Haunting Of Bly Manor’s Rahul Kohli has opened up about working with Mike Flanagan and what it was like playing Owen in the Netflix series.
The new season in The Haunting Of… series on Netflix has landed, just in time for Halloween.
The series was created, written and mostly directed by Mike Flanagan.
He’s quickly making a name for himself as one of the kings of the horror genre.
He made The Haunting of Hill House, Gerald’s Game, Doctor Sleep and The Haunting Of Bly Manor.
That’s not a bad resume, and it looks like he’s not going to stop any time soon.
One of the standouts of The Haunting Of Bly Manor, for me personally, was Rahul Kohli.
He played the manor’s chef, Owen, and he’s simply splendid in the series.
The British actor was recently chatting to Inverse about what it was like working on the show.
During this conversation, he also revealed what it was like working with Mike Flanagan, whom he’s going to be working with on another project, Midnight Mass.

Here’s what Kohli had to say about his Bly Manor character, Owen:
I was lucky I got Owen, because Owen is sweet and a bit big and energetic, with his puns and everything. It was an awesome, refreshing experience for me.
One thing that Bly Manor captured really well is the importance of the kitchen. It’s one of the safe spaces in Bly Manor. Whenever we go back to the kitchen, I think there is a moment where you can release tension. The rest of the house is terrifying, but this place is okay, this is a safe place where the family gets together and talks through their differences.
Kohli then went on to reveal what it was like working with Flanagan and their upcoming project, Midnight Mass:
I am happy to spend the next decade only working with Mike. I absolutely love him.
