Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, the motoring world’s favourite band of misfits, are back at it again. The trio, often dubbed ‘Three Idiots’ in good humour, are set to return with their latest special of The Grand Tour, if Clarkson’s recent Instagram post is anything to go by.
In his latest Instagram teaser, Clarkson quite succinctly summarised their forthcoming adventure, writing: “Three idiots. Three shit cars. The next Grand Tour. Eastern Europe. Release date June 16th.” As always, fans can expect the usual blend of banter, blunders, and bizarre vehicles as the trio embark on their next adventure.

As per Clarkson’s Instagram caption, the upcoming special will see our three hosts navigating their way through the roads, terrains and, undoubtedly, the roadside pubs of Eastern Europe. The exact countries and cities remain a mystery at this point, but given The Grand Tour‘s history of diverse and stunning locations, one can expect a truly memorable journey.
From the ruins of Chernobyl to the bustling streets of Bucharest, Eastern Europe is teeming with automotive adventures, intriguing history, and stunning landscapes. If the trio’s previous exploits are any indication, fans can expect plenty of banter-laden history lessons and unexpected detours.
Amazon’s Stopping It’s Partnership With Clarkson

Unfortunately, it looks like The Grand Tour’s days are numbered. It was revealed in an article on Variety that Amazon would not be renewing its contract with Clarkson beyond 2024. This decision was made after Clarkson wrote and op-ed for The Sun newspaper in which he made some rather ill-judged remarks about Meghan Markle.
However, it has also been revealed that Amazon is allowing Clarkson and co to finish up the current Grand Tour specials they have in development, as well as the third season of Clarkson’s Farm. The platform clearly understands the global appeal of these three automotive jesters, and their ability to attract an audience from around the globe, and they wanted them to get to finish the show in style.
In this new special, Amazon has once again backed the trio’s unique formula of humour, camaraderie, and motoring madness. The previous special, The Grand Tour: A Skandi Flick, where the trio embarked on an adventure through Scandanvia, was a major hit. Amazon will be hoping for a repeat of this success come June 16th.
The Cars Are The Stars

While the details of the vehicles have been teased as “three shit cars,” no Grand Tour special would be complete without a set of truly unique, often hilariously inappropriate vehicles. Whether it’s a home-made amphibious vehicle, a supercar pushed to its limits, or an underpowered hatchback attempting to climb a mountain, the trio’s choice of cars often steal the show.
Without a doubt, the cars chosen for this Eastern European adventure will be a source of laughter, frustration, and, occasionally, awe. The hosts’ love-hate relationship with their vehicles is a cornerstone of the show, and this upcoming special promises to continue this tradition.
