The Grand Tour, Prime Video’s popular car show featuring Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, has been entertaining audiences for several seasons now. Fans of the show are always excited to see what the trio has in store for them next.

However, the show’s been in a bit of a tough place recently, all thanks to Jeremy Clarkson and an article he wrote in The Sun. We’re going to talk about that a little bit later on in this article and find out how it might impact the upcoming episodes and specials of The Grand Tour.

So, in this article, we’ll take a look at what to expect from the next episode of The Grand Tour.

At the time of writing, the release date for the next episode of The Grand Tour has not been announced. However, the show usually releases new episodes on a regular schedule, so fans can expect the next episode to be available soon.

One of the things we do know is that there will be at least one special released later this year. So, we will see The Grand Tour return to Prime Video in 2023. During a recent interview, Jeremy was asked when the next episode of The Grand Tour would be released on Amazon Prime Video.

Jeremy revealed that it would be released in “a very long time”. However, he then said that it would be out on the streaming platform in about six months. Clarkson revealed:

A very long time. Is it six months, perhaps? Six months.

This means that this upcoming The Grand Tour special might be released in December, towards the end of this year. However, it could very easily be pushed into early 2023. However, another thing we now know is that Amazon has opted not to renew Jeremy Clarkson’s contract.

What does this mean? Well, it means that the show is effectively cancelled. What Amazon has done is allowed the production of the specials that were already in the works to continue, but there will be no more The Grand Tour specials greenlit by the company.

So, this means that we’re going to get to see four more specials, and then the show will come to an end. This has been met with anger by many The Grand Tour fans. However, I’m personally of the opinion that Amazon made the right decision, especially given what Jeremy Clarkson wrote in his op-ed in The Sun about Meghan Markle, which was neither clever nor funny. It was just insulting.

The Grand Tour is known for taking viewers to different locations around the world. In the past, the show has visited locations such as South Africa, the United States, and many European countries.

As for where the next episode of the awesome Prime Video series will take place, we have a solid answer for you. It’s been revealed that the following The Grand Tour special will be set in Poland, and Jeremy and Richard will cycle around the area. I’m sure that Jeremy is very happy about that fact. Jeremy and Richard let slip a little bit of what we should expect from the upcoming special.

Clarkson and his The Grand Tour colleague, Richard Hammond, were talking to a Radio 1 Slovenia journalist in a hotel. During the interview, Clarkson and Hammond revealed that they had travelled 2,000km through Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary and were now going through Slovenia. Here’s what Clarkson had to say about the upcoming Grand Tour special:

Well, this is, it is actually the finish point for a long – about a 2,200 kilometre drive from Gdansk at the top of Poland. All the way down to Krakow, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and then here.

Clarkson was then asked what he thought of Slovenia, and he admitted that he thought it was “very pretty”. Here’s what he had to say about travelling through Hungary and Slovenia:

Well, we came in through the mountains from Hungary, so it’s just straight away very pretty. And then it stays very pretty to here. So it’s just very pretty.

The Grand Tour is known for featuring a variety of cars, challenges, and stunts. The next episode is likely to include more of the same. However, it sounds as though the next special might be a bit different from the ones we’ve seen before.

As far as what The Grand Tour trio is going to be doing in this special, it seems as though Clarkson, Hammond and May will be swapping cars for bikes, which should be a lot of fun to watch. We all know how much Clarkson hates bikes. I’m sure he’ll be very annoyed throughout the whole special.

We’re just going to have to wait and see what ends up happening in this special, and I, for one, cannot wait to see the next special because this show is easily one of my favourite Prime Video series.

As far as future episodes of the show are concerned, it’s been revealed that there will be four more, and then the show will come to an end. It’s predicted that the final episode of the series will be released in 2025.

So, there will be more episodes after this Poland special. Richard Hammond admitted to This Morning on ITV (via Grand Tour Nation) that these episodes take a lot of planning, and planning has started for the next stint of filming. Here’s what he had to say on the matter:

Yeah, they take a lot of planning, as you can imagine, you know TV. There’s so much planning involved, building one of those shows just… I mean there’s a lot of us in the show.

Then one of This Morning’s presenters, Phillip Scofield, asked Hammond: “Where do you want to go, what do you want to do?” However, Richard didn’t want to give too much away. He said:

I don’t know. We actually have a meeting next week. We’re often asked ‘Do you all see each other between shows?’ Well yes because we finish one of the shows, then it’s got to be edited. And Andy Wilman, that you both know is a genius, puts the thing together, but we’re all involved in seeing that through various stages. Then by the time we finish that, we’re starting to plan the next one.

Has The Grand Tour been cancelled?

So, the answer to this question is a tricky one. The show hasn’t been cancelled. Amazon is just not renewing Jeremy Clarkson’s contract. It’s been suggested that this means that the show will effectively end after the four next specials are released.

This news was confirmed by Variety in an article that was posted after we were informed that Amazon Studios was looking very closely at the situation with Jeremy Clarkson, and they weren’t happy with the presenter and journalist at all.

It was eventually decided that they would not renew his contract, thus ending the rather lucrative relationship between Amazon and Clarkson. Clarkson’s Farm seasons 2 and 3 will be released, but that will be it. It’s the same sort of situation with The Grand Tour.

So, even though The Grand Tour continues to be a popular and entertaining car show, there will only be four more specials to come for fans to enjoy. Fans can look forward to the next episode, which will likely include more exciting cars, challenges, and locations.

Keep an eye on the show’s official website and social media accounts for updates on the release date and details of the next episode.

What a blow that eventually grand tour will come to a end! All because of petty minded people who have nothing better to do in their life’s but too complain!! It was just word’s that Jeremy wrote, it’s not as if he shot somebody!! As for Amazon cutting ties with him, because of the backlash, what about the millions of us who enjoy the show
? Don’t we get a say?? Obviously Not!! Shame on you Amazon.

This is the problem with the world today.. your only allowed to say things the left agrees with. F Meghan Markle. I don’t care who she is. She could die right now, would not affect my life. The writer of this story is a leftist. Amazon are leftists. Quit being pussies and think for yourself. Or conform and you may not be canceled. Gfys!

It is what Clarkson is all about. Out spoken, oafish behaviour, it’s the irreverence that comes out, that is his trade mark. I agree with his remarks about M and WHO! have they not done the same, deriding all and sunder, “crocodile tears” an all!.

What? Jeremy Clarkson in offensive article shock horror? I mean…really?
Amazon took Clarkson on knowing he’s been a controversial figure for 20 years. Now he’s controversial under their banner it’s time to pull the plug?
Nonsense. Much as I have always loved Top Gear and Grand Tour the fact is Amazon aren’t renewing simply because in 2025 these 3 old farts will (in Amazon’s eyes) have lost their relevance. They’ve done the job of raising Amazon Prime’s profile but as always happens some muppet has decided a new and younger program profile is required. Face-palm moment, like youth is all it takes. Age is irrelevant. Quality is key. Wake up Amazon!

Hi. Thanks for calling me that. That is very kind of you… Honestly, not sure why you would call me such a thing, especially based on this article. What did I say that triggered you so badly?

Probably because your agreement with Amazon to cancel Jeremy. While I don’t condone name calling, you should be in support of people speaking their mind seeing how you make a living doing so.

I never said that I agreed with Amazon’s decision. What I actually said was that Amazon didn’t really have much choice in the matter. Also, even if I did think that Amazon was correct in its decision to not renew its contract with Clarkson, it’s no reason to call someone that. We are all allowed to have our opinions without resorting to insults. It’s just very, very childish and shows a lack of intelligence.

The majority of Clarkson fans like him BECAUSE he is unwoke, unconventional and flouts expected norms. He’s not overtly unpleasant about anyone (other than Americans, obviously), but does speak his mind. As Evelyn Beatrice Hall wrote (after Voltaire) “I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”. A dictum sadly ignored today.

For you to mention that the “comments made by Clarkson” are the reason for the show ending and then not even say what the comments were or what he said is poor jurnalism to say the least. I think we’d all like to know what he said that was so bad to get Amazon to not renew his contract…..

I love The Grand Tour & Clarksons Farm. I have been a big fan of the funny trio Clarkson Hammond & May from their years doing Top Gear. This stupid ridiculous senseless ‘cancel culture’ is insane. No-one is perfect & sometimes we all say or do something which we later realise was a bit over the top or over the mark. So many many of us felt so let down & nay even repulsed at the Sussex’s Moan-a-thon. It is the Sussex’s who need to be cancelled. Jeremy Richard James, you guys bring so much joy happiness & joie de vivre, keep going ! We love you ⭐️

Have your say...
