The Flash’s Grant Gustin Breaks Silence On Hartley Sawyer Firing From The Show

The Flash’s lead, Grant Gustin, has broken his silence and given his thoughts on Hartley Sawyer having been fired from the show before Season 7.

I was shocked by what happened yesterday.

It was revealed that Hartley Sawyer had been fired from The Flash with immediate effect after racist and misogynistic tweets of his resurfaced.

The tweets were posted between 2012 and 2014, but there were pretty shocking.

Sawyer later admitted fault, but also claimed that the tweets were ‘jokes’.

That said, these jokes were neither funny nor clever.

Anyway, Grant Gustin, who plays The Flash on the show took to Instagram to offer his 7.6 million followers his thoughts on Sawyer’s firing.

What Gustin did was post a screengrab of The Flash’s showrunner, Eric Wallace’s statement which makes the whole thing very clear.

He also added one thought of his own in the caption.

Here’s what Gustin wrote in his post’s caption:

I don’t have much to add because Eric’s thoughts are stated so eloquently and powerfully. I will say I was shocked, saddened and angry when I saw the tweets. Words matter.

I too, was shocked, saddened and angry by Sawyer’s tweets.

What do you make of Grant Gustin’s statement?

Do you think Hartley Sawyer should have been fired from The Flash Season 7?

Or, do you think The CW should have found another way to get him off the show?
