The CinemaCon screening of DC Studios’ The Flash led to very positive reviews from major influencers and journalists. Now the question is, is it real? Or is it all just hype?
Ever since Ezra Miller had multiple arrests and had gone into hiding, many angry fans wanted to cancel Miller’s solo film. Many even wondered why Batgirl was cancelled, and this film with Miller was still in the works. Warner Bros Discovery’s CEO David Zaslav has told the public that Batgirl was not up to their standard, but The Flash is one of the best films he has ever seen.
It’s hard to tell how much truth there is from Zaslav since it’s his company at stake here. Test screenings of the film have turned up positive too. Zaslav is so confident about how good the film is. He even showed it to some influential people, including Mission Impossible and Top Gun star Tom Cruise. And he also had only positive things to say about the film.
The film is still a few months away, and we wonder, is it really what they say it is? How good is Andy Muschietti’s first superhero film?

The new film has been seen in a private screening for a select number of fans, journalists, influencers and others. Interestingly, there was no NDA required. In other words, Warner Bros wants the word out that it’s not just them who is saying that the film is good.

The Flash is hands down one of the best superhero films of all time. No joke, The Flash is the ultimate movie going experience as it has a little bit of everything! Action, emotion, heart, humor and plenty of nostalgia. Ezra Miller is phenomenal as dual Barry Allens. Michael Keaton and Sasha Calle are very good also. This is a film that audiences will be watching over and over again. Oh, and avoid all the spoilers you can for this movie because there some really incredible surprises that will truly blow you away. I cannot wait to see this again!

I don’t know what to say other than The Flash delivered more than I could have hoped. The acting is beyond great. Keaton delivers everything you want. Supergirl is my new favorite superhero? I’m genuinely shocked this movie meets and surpasses the hype. I never expected that.

He even followed it up with more praise:
This will be one of those superhero movies that we watch over and over and over.
Then again, Hayner has been called out for saying Birds of Prey is a good film.
No doubt that there are a lot more positives by well-known people. Because of this, some even think that these people are being paid to say something good about the film.
Should We Believe The Hype That Surrounds The Flash?

But with all those positive remarks about The Flash, why are there negative remarks about Aquaman the Lost Kingdom? Can’t Warner Bros Discovery pay for all these influencers and journalists? Both films even have cast members that people aren’t really happy with. It kind of doesn’t make any sense to me.
Positive or not, it still depends on the general public. Movie reviewers and critics don’t really see eye to eye in some cases. Shazam! Fury of the Gods had bad critic reviews but a high audience score. James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad had very good reviews and a high audience score, but it still failed at the box office. So, even with all the hype that surrounds the film, the outcome of it is still unpredictable.
Personally, I’d love to see the film succeed. One thing, I love the time travel aspect of it. I also enjoyed the Flashpoint Paradox comic book. I even watched The CW’s The Flash and the animated film, and I had fun with both interpretations of the comic. So, I am excited to see the film, and I do hope that the early reactions about the film are true. If it’s that good, then I can’t wait to watch it over and over myself.
