If you thought that superhero films couldn’t get any better, think again. A rousing new trailer for The Flash has been revealed at CinemaCon, and it’s a delight to behold. The teaser left audiences breathless as it showcased Ezra Miller’s stunning portrayal of the scarlet speedster. Director Andy Muschietti, known for his work on It and It Chapter Two, has called Miller “one of the best actors” he has ever worked with (via Deadline).
The Flash’s director, Andy Muschietti, was brimming with praise for Miller, stating:
One of the best actors I’ve ever worked with. Every tool in the toolkit… [Miller] is an incredible comedian, and [has] all the action required for a big spectacle like this.
It’s evident that Miller’s performance as The Flash has thoroughly impressed Muschietti, and we can’t wait to see the actor in action when the film hits theatres.
The trailer teases an action-packed adventure, with The Flash travelling through time, meeting alternate versions of himself, and even teaming up with another DC Comics legend, Batman. This version of the Caped Crusader will be portrayed by none other than Michael Keaton, who famously donned the cape and cowl in the 1989 film Batman and its sequel, Batman Returns. It’s safe to say that the star-studded cast and thrilling storyline have fans on the edge of their seats.

Ezra Miller first appeared as The Flash in a cameo role in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, before joining the main cast of the 2017 film Justice League. We then got to see him as Barry in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. The actor’s portrayal of Barry Allen, a forensic scientist with the power to move at incredible speeds, quickly became a fan favourite. Miller’s unique take on the character, blending humour with depth and vulnerability, struck a chord with audiences worldwide.
With The Flash being a stand-alone film focusing on the eponymous character, fans are eager to know whether Ezra Miller will continue to portray the speedster in future instalments of the DC Universe (DCU). While there is currently no official word on Miller’s involvement in future films, the actor’s stellar performance and Muschietti’s praise certainly bode well for his chances of reprising the role.
However, after all the controversy surrounding the actor, there is a possibility that we won’t get to see Miller play the role again. Personally, I hope we do get to see him play the speedster again, but there’s a high chance that James Gunn and Peter Safran – the co-CEOs of DC Studios – might want to recast the role and move away from all the Miller controversy.

However, it’s also worth noting that the DCEU is no stranger to actor continuity, with the likes of Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), and Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) all reprising their roles in multiple films. Given the positive reception of Miller’s portrayal of The Flash thus far, it seems highly likely that Warner Bros. and DC will want to keep him on board for future projects.
In addition to the question of Miller’s continued involvement, fans are also curious about the future direction of The Flash’s storyline within the DCEU. The character’s ability to travel through time and alternate dimensions opens up a wealth of storytelling possibilities, and the forthcoming film will undoubtedly lay the groundwork for potential sequels and spin-offs.
