It appears that some fans would quite like to Kristen Stewart to join her former Twilight co-star and lover, Robert Pattinson, as Catwoman in The Batman.
With the news that Robert Pattinson is the frontrunner to play Batman in Matt Reeves’ upcoming DC Comics movie, there have been all sorts of rumours of who could be in the film alongside the British actor.
There’s already been talk of Josh Gad playing The Penguin, and he’s been very vocal about how much he wants the role.
However, a new name’s been thrown into the ring for a very popular DC Comics character who could star alongside Pattinson’s Batman.
It’s been reported that Catwoman will play a part in Matt Reeves’ movie, which has been described as a neo-noire Batman thriller.
However, no names of who could play the iconic character have surfaced, that is, until now.
Fans have put their full-support behind Kristen Stewart to play the role. Well, I saw full-support, a few fans have taken to the Internet and it was kind of meant as a joke.
One fan on Twitter wrote: “I’m pro Robert Battinson. TWILIGHT is very bad, but he is not. Gimme Kristen Stewart Catwoman while we’re at it.”
Another said: “I suddenly want Kristen Stewart as Catwoman…,” and a third added: “Okay, so hear me out: Kristen Stewart as Catwoman.”
I’m not going to quote anymore tweet here because that’s just boring, but you get the picture. People saw R-Pats and immediately thought up a way they could get a few cheap laughs on Twitter.
That said, it wouldn’t be that mad to cast her, since, much like her Twilight co-star, since those films, Stewart’s gone on to show what a talented actress she really is.
Since Twilight she’s done films like Clouds of Sils Maria, Still Alice and Personal Shopper. She actually became the first non-French actress to win a César for Best Supporting Actress in Clouds of Sils Maria.
The bottom line is that she’s a darn fine actress and The Batman would be lucky to have her.
However, there is the problem that she and R-Pats used to date and it didn’t end very well, so it could create some unwanted tension on-set. So, Reeves might decide to give this one a miss.
Meanwhile, there have been a number of very upset fans online about Pattinson’s casting, and they went as far as to create a Change.org petition begging Warner Bros. to remove him from the picture, which is very sad indeed.
Anyway, The Batman, or whatever it’ll be called, is scheduled for release on June 25th, 2021, but that could change in time.
