Tessa Thompson is going to be reuniting with her Thor: Ragnarok co-star, Chris Hemsworth, in the upcoming Men In Black spin-off.
Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth shared fantastic chemistry in Thor: Ragnarok and it looks like we’re going to get them together again in another franchise, specifically Sony Pictures’ upcoming Men In Black spin-off movie. We already heard that Hemsworth was in talks to star in the new Men In Black movie and now we’re hearing via Variety that Sony is in discussions with Tessa Thompson.
There’s still relatively little known about this project and it seems to be in the very early stages of development. However, we do know that Straight Outta Compton and The Fate of the Furious director F. Gary Gray is going to helm the project which has Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald as producers, with Steven Spielberg executive producing. We also know that neither Will Smith nor Tommy Lee Jones will return to the franchise. This will very much be a new Men In Black.
Thompson and Hemsworth have both shown how good they are on-screen together and that they have brilliant comedic timing and I’m hugely looking forward to seeing what they have in-store for us in this second franchise that they will be sharing. I just hope that we’ll get the see the two of them share the screen once more in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As for the new Men In Black film’s plot, not much is known. However, we do know that it’ll involve a secret government agency who serves as a sort of Earth police force ensuring that aliens from outer space adhere to our laws. They basically keep us safe from aliens and keep the aliens safe from us.
This Men In Black spin-off movie is set to hit US theatres on May 17th, 2019.
