Terrifier 2 has been making the rounds on a lot of media outlets recently, and I will go into why in a second. However, the thing that many other people and I are interested in knowing about is when it will be released and where? This is something that I’ve actually been looking into quite a lot because I am really interested in watching this movie, especially given that it’s coming close to Halloween!
Call me crazy, but I love watching horror films, especially during this time of the year (you know, with Halloween being just around the corner). So, I’ve been looking to try and find a release date for this film and working out where I can actually watch it. Now, I realise that a lot of places will tell you that the movie has already been released, and that’s technically true. However, it’s only been released in certain territories so far. So, I wanted to go into the film’s release date in a little more detail and try and work out when it’ll be released in different territories.
When will Terrifier 2 be released in cinemas?

Before we get into all of that, I wanted to go over Terrifier 2’s plot synopsis for you, because, you know, Google requires these articles to be a certain length. Yep. I know. It’s annoying for me too because I have to write all this stuff… Anyway, here’s the film’s plot synopsis:
After being resurrected by a sinister entity, Art the Clown returns to the timid town of Miles County where he targets a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night.
The film is being produced by a company called Dark Age Cinema, which also produced the first Terrifier film back in 2016. The movie is written and directed by Damien Leone. Leone also wrote and directed the film Terrifier movie, as well as All Hallow’s Eve in 2013, which was the movie that first introduced audiences to Art the Clown (played by David Howard Thornton).
Anyway, onto the bit of this article that you are all here for (I hope). The movie’s release date. So, as I mentioned above, the movie has been released in certain territories already and has been screened at a number of film festivals around the globe. It was shown on August 29th, 2022, at FrightFest in the United Kingdom. It was then screened on September 22nd, 2022, in the United States at a film festival called Fantastic Fest. The movie got a wider release in the United States on October 6th. However, it still hasn’t been released yet in any other territories, which is a shame because we all want to watch it!
Here are some of the release dates for the movie that have been confirmed:
- Spain – November 2nd, 2022 (internet)
- Egypt – November 3rd, 2022
- Russia – November 3rd, 2022
- United Arab Emirates – November 3rd, 2022
We don’t have any other release dates for Terrifier 2 to share with you yet. These release dates were taken from Terrifier 2’s IMDB Pro page, and as of yet, all other territories do not have any release dates planned. I hope this will change soon, as the movie should be released in cinemas around Halloween. Fingers crossed that does end up happening.
We also don’t know whether the movie will be available to watch on any streaming platform. We have reached out to the movie’s writer/director as well as the company behind the film’s distribution for more information. However, they have yet to reply. We will update this article as soon as we get any new information for you.
Who stars in Terrifier 2?

As for Terrifier 2’s cast, it stars the likes of David Howard Thornton (as Art the Clown), Lauren LaVera, Jenna Kanell, Catherine Corcoran, Griffin Santopietro, Felissa Rose, Samantha Scaffidi, Tamara Glynn, Kailey Hyman, Katie Maguire, Elliott Fullam, Casey Hartnett and Chris Jericho.
That, of course, isn’t the film’s whole cast. The movie actually has a pretty big cast, and I, for one, cannot wait to see them all in action in this movie.
Will there be more Terrifier movies after this one?

Now, one of the big questions that people have is whether there’ll be another Terrifier film. Well, that’s completely up to how well Terrifier 2 does and whether the movie’s writer/director, Damien Leone, is interested in making another one.
One thing that I will mention here – because it’s been in the news of late – are the reports that this sequel has been causing some viewers to pass out and vomit whilst watching it. This has been reported by outlets such as Entertainment Weekly. People have been taking to Twitter to talk about this happening to them or to some of their friends.
One user on Twitter wrote: “My friend passed out, and the theatre called an ambulance. Highly recommended.” Another added: “Just saw Terrifier 2. It was an amazing gory mess. The guy behind me passed out cold n crashed into my chair, another guy left because he didn’t feel good, I overheard him say and walking out the theatre door, I heard a guy puking hard & loud in the bathroom.”
These reports have resulted in Terrifier 2’s writer and director making a statement which read:
Listen, I would have loved to have a couple of walk-outs, I think that’s sort of a badge of honor because it is an intense movie. I don’t want people fainting, getting hurt during the movie. But it’s surreal. Here’s the thing, it’s called Terrifier 2, you should probably see Terrifier 1 before you jump into this one. If you see Terrifier 1, you’d know what you’re getting into.
There is a now-notorious murder scene, a hacksaw scene, in Part I that everyone walks away talking about. We tried to rival that scene [in the new film] because the really supportive fan base that we’ve had this entire time, that has really started to put Art on a pedestal, I mean, those are the things that they really want. I think this movie is more accessible, but we’re essentially still making these movies for them, and if other people want to come on board, the more the merrier.
