It’s been revealed that Edward Furlong will be returning to the Terminator franchise as John Connor in Terminator: Dark Fate.
The career, or lack thereof, of Edward Furlong has been quite a sad tale. The actor burst onto the scene in the second Terminator movie, Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
Since then it’s been a downward spiral for the young actor and he really found it difficult to find his feet in the industry.
He then struggled with drug addiction and he kind of became the prime example of what happens to child actors once they get too famous.
Furlong showed what a talented young actor he was in Terminator 2, but he was never seen again in the franchise, yet it looks like that’s all going to change.
The creator and director of the first two Terminator movies, James Cameron (who’s also a producer on Terminator: Dark Fate) announced the news that Furlong would be returning in the movie as John Connor during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
He was talking to the audience via video link before Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton arrived on stage along with film’s director, Deadpool’s Tim Miller.
Furlong was just 13 when he appeared in the first movie, and he’s now 41 years old. I just hope it’ll be a good return for the actor who’s been through some very difficult times post-Terminator 2.
