Henry Cavill’s Superman To Fight Brainiac In Man Of Steel 2

Looks like Henry Cavill’s Superman will be fighting Brainiac in an upcoming Man Of Steel sequel (Man Of Steel 2), which is close to what we were told recently by one of our sources. This report comes to us via Geekosity. According to their report, Superman and Brainiac will fight one another in the DC Universe, which fans have wanted to see for quite some time.

So, this comes from Mikey Sutton over at Geekosity, and interestingly enough, we were told that Brainiac is going to be coming to the DC Comics movies. We posted the article about that yesterday, and we did state in our report that our source was not about to clarify whether the iconic DC Comics villain would be turning up in an upcoming Superman or not. However, it seems as though Mikey’s sources were able to confirm that little bit of information. I’ve been looking forward to seeing Brainiac and Superman go up against each other in live-action for such a long time.

Brainiac is one of the best DC Comics villains, and in the comics, he often goes up against Superman. He’s actually considered to be Superman’s primary antagonist. I would argue that Brainiac has proven to be a more forcible villain for Superman than the likes of Lex Luthor. We’re going to have to wait and see what ends up happening in the DCU (yep, that’s what it’s called now). It sounds like things are starting to get very, very interesting for the future of DC Studios.

This all comes after it was revealed that James Gunn and Peter Safran are the new co-CEOs of DC Studios. This news has caused a bit of a stir amongst some of the DC movie fans. However, I think it’s really good news, and I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the idea of bringing Brainiac into the movies was Gunn’s idea. He is a comic book fan, and I’m sure that he would love to get the opportunity to bring the villain to the big screen.

Who could play the villain in live-action?

One of the questions I have is which actor could end up playing the villain in live-action. I’m sure that fans will come up with a bunch of really interesting names. I’m also pretty certain that they’d like a British male actor to play the role. However, I’m wondering whether DC Studios could go down a very different route with the villain.

Brainiac is an android, and the character in the comics is green and has tubes coming out of its head. So, really, anybody could play the role. Man, woman, trans, white, black, Asian… It really doesn’t matter, as long as the person they get to play the role is sinister enough to do the villain justice.

We’re going to have to wait and see what they end up doing with the character. I think it’s the perfect villain for Cavill’s Superman to go up against next, and this upcoming Man Of Steel sequel could end up being one of the best DC Comics movies we’ve ever seen!
