There’s a rumour making the rounds on the Internet which suggests that Jim Hopper will end up being a clone in Stranger Things Season 4.
This new rumour comes from Screen Rant, and I’m going to be honest, it’s very very convincing.
According to Screen Rant, this upcoming season of Netflix’s hit show, Stranger Things, might reveal that the Jim Hopper in Russia is actually a clone.
But, why do they think this could be the case?
This idea comes from the fact that Stranger Things really does wear its influences on its sleeve.
You can easily tell that the series is inspired from a whole load of movies from the 80s.
Alien, Aliens, E.T., Back To The Future, The Blob, Ghostbusters, Christine, Gremlins, Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Jaws.
These are all huge influences for the previous three seasons.
The theory suggests that Season 4 of Stranger Things will be inspired by The Thing, which is all about an alien posing as a human.

So, this could mean that Season 4 will be heavily inspired by the John Carpenter classic horror film.
Incidentally, The Thing is in my top three favourite movies of all time, so if this theory is correct, I am very excited to see Stranger Things Season 4.
The theory suggests that we might actually end up with two versions of Hopper.
One of them is stuck in the upside-down (the real one), and the other is a Russian clone who they send to Hawkins to pose as the Sheriff.
This would explain how Hopper ended up working on the train lines in Russia in what seems to be like a prison.
The other possibility is that one Hopper has been created by the Mind Flayer.
This new Hopper could then try to enact revenge upon Eleven.
