A bunch of images from Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker have been released and one of them shows Rey and Kylo Ren locked in an intense lightsaber battle.
Fans are desperate to know more about Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, as am I. The film’s only a few months away from release and we still know relatively little about it.
We did learn that The Emperor will make a return, which is exciting if a little bit of a cop-out. We also know, thanks to a recent article in Vanity Fair that the Knights Of Ren will be making their long-awaited return.
Within the article, there were some glorious pictures from legendary photographer, Annie Leibovitz, and one of them shows Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) locked in a furious lightsaber battle.
We already know that there’s going to be quite a bit of beef between the characters after the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and it looks like it’ll culminate in a big battle to potentially the death.
In The Last Jedi Rey was desperate to bring back Kylo to the light, and Kylo wanted her to join him in his battle against, well… everything… To cut a long story short, they don’t end up seeing eye-to-eye. It all ends with them having a Force fight over Luke’s (or Anakin’s) lightsaber and it breaks into multiple pieces.
Anyway, back to The Rise Of Skywalker battle scene between Rey and Kylo. It looks like it’ll be a very wet scene, in the sense that they’ll be surrounded by water (nothing dirty people, please!).
There are a whole bunch of other pictures in this article, and one of them shows recent Oscar nominee, Richard E Grant, who’s playing Allegiant General Pryde, and he’s sitting in from of General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson). They both look rather menacing.
The Rise of Skywalker will see the likes of Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson), Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo), Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong’o), Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams) and Lieutenant Connix (Billie Lourd) all return to the Star Wars saga.
Carrie Fisher will also be returning as General Leia Organa in the film, through the use of archival footage.
They all be joined by new cast members including Keri Russell, Richard E. Grant, Naomi Ackie, Matt Smith, and Dominic Monaghan.
Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker is set to hit UK cinemas on December 19th, 2019.
