Star Wars Fans Are Calling For Sebastian Stan To Play Luke Skywalker In The Mandalorian

Now, we stated yesterday that The Mandalorian Season 3 could see a cameo from Luke Skywalker, and it seems as though fans are eager for it to happen. However, they seem to not be keen on the idea of Disney and Lucasfilm de-ageing Mark Hamill for the role. They would rather see Sebastian Stan play Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian.

It’s been said for years that Sebastian Stan looks a lot like a younger version of Mark Hamill, and I can see it. There is a definite resemblance between the two actors. Mark Hamill has even tweeted about their similarities in the past. What that has ended up doing was stoke the fires. People are now desperate to see Sebastian Stan play Luke Skywalker post-Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi.

Now, would that work? I don’t know. He might look the part, but does he sound like Luke Skywalker? I’m not so sure about that. They could end up getting Mark Hamill to voice the character, however, even his voice has changed over the years. That said, he’s one of the best voice actors out there, so if anyone could do it, Mark could. That said, fans have taken to Twitter to start campaigning for Sebastian Stan to play Luke in The Mandalorian Season 3.

Okay but hear me out: Sebastian Stan has shown interest in playing young Luke, and we know that Seb is already on a Disney + show, so what if Seb plays Luke on the Mandalorian and trains Grogu, and we get to see him setting up his new temple/school!!

I’ve gotta ask, if there is a possibility that Luke Skywalker does come in the Mandalorian, wouldn’t this be the perfect opportunity for Sebastian Stan to play him? And let’s not forget that we really need Benedict Cumberbatch as Admiral Thrawn, one of the best villains ever.

As I mentioned, Mark Hamill has already commented on the possibility of Sebastian Stan playing a young Luke Skywalker, and he joked that he would play Sebastian’s dad any day. Here’s what he said about it:

He doesn’t need me, he’s an accomplished actor, he can get in there on his own. And I shouldn’t put my thumb on the scale because it’s not my choice it’s Disney and Lucasfilm and I don’t want to cut short any other potential young Lukes…but I’d play his father any day.

Now, it really does sound as if this campaign is taking off, and Disney and Lucasfilm have shown that they do listen to the fans when it comes to casting. They cast Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano and that had been a very popular bit of fan casting for a long time before she got the role. Let’s wait and see what happens.
