Ever since the first Star Wars movie was released in 1977, the franchise has gone from strength to strength.
Somehow, they knew that they would reach the masses with their wild galactic adventures.
At first glance, the whole franchise seems outrageous and many people fall in love with the absurdity of it all.
What not many people realize is that there are some Pedagogical gems in each movie.
Teaching and learning are at the heart of Star Wars and here are some of the best lessons for education.
Starting with the Last Jedi

The Last Jedi is one of the best educational films from the USA and Asia.
In this movie, our favourite green teacher is at it again, using some of his unorthodox methods to bring a point across.
He is no stranger to the theatrical and will go to great lengths to teach Luke a valuable lesson.
Early in the film, he destroys the Uneti tree with the bound library of Jedi knowledge.
Luke is flabbergasted and cannot see the method in the madness.
Yoda was trying to reach Luke and had to resort to some drastic measures and adapt.
Teachers know all too well that a lesson can go sideways very quickly, but when the planning and preparation have been done, they can veer from the plan and bring the students back.
And when as a student, things do not work out for me, I often ask experts to “do my assignment” who know the intricacies of writing assignment in the UK. The professional writers help me in doing my assignment and the assignment writing by them is always of the highest quality.
Luke Skywalker, the troubled student

When one looks at Luke from an educational point of view, he is a typical over-achiever who got knocked off his high horse by reality. In his case, he believed that he was to blame for Ben Solo joining forces with the dark side.
He could not look past his failures and could not recognize that in failing, one often learns the most valuable lessons.
Instead of learning from his mistakes and becoming adaptable, Luke resorts to a life of mediocrity and isolation, believing that his absence would make the galaxy a better place.
Our mistakes can either drown us or elevate us to greatness.
A different kind of teacher

Rey finally located Luke and was elated that she was finally going to be trained by the Jedi Master. She had such high expectations, but Luke was a bit of a letdown. His fears had crippled him and she saw what it did to him. Instead of following in his footsteps, Rey decided to face her fears.
Ultimately, Luke saw her persistence and willingness to stare failure in the face and in so doing, he became the student. It often happens that the people we look up to can fall and show us how not to do things. Although this is a bit of an unorthodox teaching strategy, it is certainly effective, especially when there is a hint of idolizing.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Obi-Wan is probably one of the wisest teachers in the franchise and is one of the few who see potential in people where others see disaster.
As teachers, it is sometimes easy to get swept up in reputation and here say about students.
The over-achiever, bully, troublemaker and teacher’s pet are all masks that cover up the real student.
Like Obi-Wan, teachers need to develop the skill to look behind the mask and find the true student.
In most cases, these masks have to be removed before the student will reach his or her full potential.
If the masks stay, their definition of success will always be skewed.
The lesser-known Qui-Gon Jinn

Jinn might not be the most popular or well-known character in the franchise but his message is among the most important. He taught that your focus would determine your reality and you choose whether the focus is good or bad.
Teachers can get hung up on the details and forget the bigger picture. When a lesson did not go as planned or the students did not engage in the lesson, it should not detract from the bigger picture. These are opportunities to assess and change.
