Luke Skywalker steps into Han Solo’s old spaceship, the Millenium Falcon, in Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s latest TV spot. Check it out below.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is only 42 days away now! Can you believe it? It’s so close. Who would have thought that we would now be eagerly awaiting a new Star Wars film every year? The Last Jedi is easily this year’s most anticipated movie and it looks like writer/director Rian Johnson has made quite a remarkable movie. It looks far darker than any of the previous movies, yet still holds that sense of spectacle and awe that was so prevalent in the previous Star Wars movies.
We’ve already had a teaser, a trailer and an international trailer for Johnson’s The Last Jedi, and now we have a new TV spot that showcases a few new shots including a shot that will make your hairs stand on end. I’m talking about the very beginning of the TV spot in which we see Luke Skywalker walking into the Millennium Flacon’s iconic cockpit. Sadly, we’ll no longer get to see Han Solo operate the wonderful ship, yet seeing Luke inside the spacecraft brings back memories. Check out the TV spot below.
There are other things to take note of in this mini-trailer, namely, it’s last few seconds in which Luke says the words, “This is not going to go the way you think,” and then you see Rey raise Luke’s lightsabre. This scene is edited to make you believe that Rey is about to do something unspeakable to Luke (I don’t know, maybe kill him with his own sword…), however, this teaser is clearly edited to make you believe that and I have a theory about this scene which I’ll be exploring in another article.
There is a new shot of Supreme Leader Snoke sitting in this throne and you can hear him say the line: “Darkness rises, and light to meet it.” The rest of the teaser consists mainly of shots taken from the previous trailer. I can’t tell you how excited am I for this film. The Last Jedi looks bloody brilliant and I’m sure that we’ll be very surprised with what Johnson has created.
