It’s being reported that a Spider-Man spinoff movie involving Madame Web is about to start production, which is very intriguing.
This report comes from Charles Murphy of Murphy’s Multiverse, and it should be taken with a slight pinch of salt for now.
However, I have heard for quite some time now that Sony Pictures is looking to make a Madame Web film.
It sounds like Sony Pictures might be interesting in getting the ball rolling on it faster than expected.
Now that audiences are craving more Spider-Man following the incredible Spider-Man: No Way Home, it looks like Sony is really looking into expanding its Spider-Verse.
We’ve already had two Venom movies. We’re about to get Morbius and they’re also working on a Kraven The Hunter film.

There have also been rumours that they might be thinking of bringing in Andrew Garfield to star as Spider-Man again in at least one of these movies.
Fans are desperate for more Spider-Man content, and it seems as though Sony is seeing dollar signs.

So, it would seem as though Sony Pictures is gearing up to really expand the SMCU (Spider-Man Cinematic Universe).
This is a very clever idea because they still have all the movie rights to Spider-Man and his rogues gallery.
This is how they are making Venom, Morbius and Kraven The Hunter movies.
They are all properties directly tied to Spider-Man, as is Madame Web.
Even though she’s not really a Spider-Man villain, Spidey’s often come up against her in the comics, and she kind of does whatever she wants really.

She is constantly putting Spider-Man through tests, and she transcends the Multiverse, meaning that she can talk to any version of Spider-Man she wants.
Having a Madame Web spinoff movie could be the perfect way to bring back the liked of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tom Holland turn up again in a Madame Web movie.
Imagine a movie in which all three Spider-Men come together again?
I’m pretty sure it’ll make billions, just like Spider-Man: No Way Home did.
It’s already been reported that this Madame Webb spinoff movie is going to be directed by S.J. Clarkson.
One of the names mentioned for the role has been Sandra Bullock.
