So, it turns out that the man in the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer whom many people believed to be Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock wasn’t who fans thought he might be.
This was revealed by the film’s IMAX trailer which was shown in cinemas before Shang-Chi’s showings.
This Twitter user took a video of the trailer and subsequently posted it.

The reason we know now that the man in the white shirt isn’t Matt Murdock is due to the fact that the IMAX No Way Home trailer is in a taller aspect ratio.
So, thanks to this taller aspect ratio, we can make out the man’s face and it definitely isn’t Charlie Cox.
Spider-Man: No Way Home’s IMAX trailer revealed that wasn’t Charlie Cox at all!
Saw #Shangchi in imax and they played the #SpiderManNoWayHome trailer before and because of the increased aspect ratio I was able to see the face behind the arms and can confirm it is NOT Charlie Cox #Daredevil pic.twitter.com/5l9r8aOQQ0

It had been teased by Cox himself that he wasn’t the man in the trailer.
The actor came out and told ComicBook that he was not in the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, saying:
I can promise you those are not my forearms.
I did state in our Spider-Man: No Way Home theories and predictions video that I didn’t think the man in the trailer was Cox’s Murdock.
He was just a bit too big around the middle.
That said, this doesn’t mean that Cox won’t be back as Murdock in No Way Home.
