OK, so the Internet went a bit mad a few weeks ago when a video of Andrew Garfield supposedly on the set of Spider-Man: No Way Home was leaked.
Well, it turns out it was all a ruse masterminded by I have to say a very talented VFX artist.
The VFX artist, called Alex Cerrato posted a video on his YouTube channel in which he showed his process and how he made this fake Andrew Garfield No Way Home set video.
To cut a long story short, it’s a very good deep fake.
I would argue that if Cerrato isn’t faking his faked Andrew Garfield video, then this is the best deep fake I have ever seen.
Honestly, this video tricked me.
I spent hours looking at it and I really thought it was real.

Right, so does this mean that Andrew Garfield won’t be in Spider-Man: No Way Home?
No, it doesn’t.
What it means is that a VFX artist had way too much time on his hands and thought it would be funny to get the fans all excited and then reveal that it was all a ruse.
Now, Andrew Garfield has been constantly claiming that he won’t be in the movie.
That said, what else do you expect him to say?

The leaked video is real. This video “proving” it’s fake is actually the phoney one. Many people online already showed how he didn’t do anything and just made a video for views.
The higher the quality that this keeps getting uploaded to Youtube makes me question if that guy was lying about it being a deepfake.
The edges are so sharp and clean against the arms and the blue. The stomach movements, hair rotating on the 3d axis, Adams apple casting a shadow on the suit. The tiny little sparkles on the shoulder. I don’t think this is fake.
