Spider-Man Will Be Released As An MCU Movie In July 2021

It was revealed a few weeks back that Spider-Man 3 will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which meant that we Marvel fans could all breathe a sigh of relief.

There was a moment when it wasn’t looking good for the future of Spider-Man in the MCU, but Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures managed to work out their differences in the end and we will be getting a Spider-Man 3.

This means that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will now get to appear in one more Spider-Man movie and there’s the possibility of him turning up in another Marvel movie beyond that.

So, Tom Holland’s journey as the wall-crawler won’t end with Spider-Man: Far From Home which finished on a real cliffhanger.

Imagine if we had been deprived of seeing how Peter Parker will try to clear his name after J. Jonah Jameson so rudely outed him in Far From Home’s post-credits scene.

When it was announced that Marvel and Sony would continue to work together on Spider-Man, Marvel’s new Chief Content Officer, Kevin Feige, made a statement in which he revealed how thrilled he was with the news.

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it,” he began.

“Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold,” he finished.

It’s since been revealed (via ComicBook.com) that the third Spider-Man movie will be hitting cinemas in July 2021, which is definitely something to look forward to.

They haven’t come up with a name yet for Spider-Man 3, but I would put good money on it including the word ‘home’ somehow.

Perhaps, Spider-Man: There Ain’t No Place Like Home, or Spider-Man: Homeward Bound, or Spider-Man: Home Is Where The Heart Is… OK, I’ll stop now.

The bottom line is that Spider-Man is still going to be part of the MCU, and that’s great news, and it should be celebrated.

There have also been rumours that Disney is attempting to buy the Spider-Man movie rights from Sony Pictures for a ludicrous some.

Could Disney soon own the Spider-Man movie rights?

I’ve read reports that Disney is willing to pay Sony between 4 and 5 billion dollars for it, which could end up being more than what they paid for the Star Wars franchise, which is crazy money.

I would be very surprised if Sony does end up selling the movie rights to Spider-Man because it’s their only profitable franchise at the moment.

Although the $4 billion price tag is correct, then that kind of money might be too good to turn down.
