Sony has revealed that they are working on a new Spider-Man spinoff movie, El Muerto, with actor/rapper Bad Bunny.
This was revealed by Sony Pictures at their recent CinemaCon panel.
Honestly, I think this is the strangest thing Sony has done in a while.
They’ve been trying to build up their Spider-Man spinoff cinematic universe for quite some time.
It all started off with Venom starring Tom Hardy.
We’ve then seen the likes of Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Morbius.
Since then, Sony has greenlit and is working on other Spider-Man spinoffs such as Kraven The Hunter and Madame Web.
The Kraven The Hunter movie will star Aaron Taylor-Johnson and is currently filming.
The Madame Web film will star Dakata Johnson and Sydney Sweeney

So, El Muerto will be the new addition to the Spider-Man spinoff movies universe.
Bad Bunny has been seen in Fast & Furious 9, Narcos: Mexico and he’s about to star in the action movie, Bullet Train alongside Brad Pitt.
It does seem as though his star is rising fast and Sony Pictures wants to jump on the ‘Bad Bunny train’.
It will be interesting to see whether Sony will get Bad Bunny to make a rap song for the movie, à la Will Smith.
One of the things that Bad Bunny is pretty well known for are his appearances on WWE, and he could use that experience to help play a character like El Muerto.
Who is El Muerto in Marvel comics?
El Muerto is a relatively unknown character in the Marvel Comics universe.
He’s only actually appeared in two issues in a recent Spider-Man run.
El Muerto gets his powers from a mask he wears which has been handed down from generation to generation in his family.
El Muerto did fight Spider-Man in the ring in an issue of Marvel Comics, but apart from that, we don’t know much more about the character.
