Ryan Reynolds has revealed via Twitter that Alex Trebek filmed a cameo for his upcoming film, Free Guy, before he sadly passed away. This means that Trebeck fans will have to go and see the movie to watch the last thing he did before he died.
I’m going to be totally honest here, I’m not overly familiar with Alex Trebek. I know that he was the presenter of an American game show called Jeopardy!, which was something of an institution in the United States. I suppose he would be a bit like Peter Scofield over here in the UK?
However, it was announced that he passed away last week after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. He died at the age of 80, and the outpouring of love for the presenter online has been overwhelming.

Alex Trebek was kind enough to film a cameo for our film Free Guy last year despite his battle. He was gracious and funny. In addition to being curious, stalwart, generous, reassuring and of course, Canadian. We love you, Alex. And always will.
