Ryan Reynolds was in Brazil recently and made an appearance as Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) in Saõ Paulo in order to promote his upcoming movie, Free Guy.
The movie’s trailer was released last weekend, and the trailer is brilliant and looks like the perfect mix of The Lego Movie, Ready Player One and Deadpool.
As Ryan made his way out to say hello to fans, he jumped down the ramp he was walking on to shake some fans’ hands and take pictures with them.
However, when he got down, he immediately saw there was a problem as the barrier the fans were behind started to fall, almost crushing Ryan’s legs.
Thankfully, nobody was hurt in the incident and Ryan managed to jump out of the way just in time.
He recently opened up about the incident with Entertainment Tonight.
Ryan Reynolds narrowly avoided a nasty accident during Comic-Con Experience in Brazil
Here’s what the actor had to say about the accident in full:
Well, ordinance collapsed and that was a little, I think it looked worse than it was. All I was worried about were the people that were — what you could tell is that they were falling, like, ‘Oh, they’re gonna be fine,’ and it’s like, ‘Oh, but that leg is gonna go,’ so I jumped out. But it was, yeah, everyone was fine.
After the incident, Ryan went back down to the fans and did end up taking photos and shaking hands with them.
It could have been a very dangerous accident and it ended up being a rather touching moment, and as I said before, nobody was hurt in the process.
That’s the main thing we should take out of this incident – nobody was hurt at CCXP and Ryan Reynolds was a perfect gentleman afterwards, making sure his devoted fans weren’t hurt.
