It’s being reported that Ryan Gosling is very close to being cast as Ghost Rider in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which would be a mega bit of casting! Both Gosling and Marvel’s President Kevin Feige have made no secret that they’ve been chatting about potential roles he could play in the MCU. Gosling has even said in multiple interviews that he’s a big fan of the MCU and loves the Ghost Rider character.
It’s certainly a character that he could play, and I think he would actually be perfect casting in the role. During an interview back in 2022 with Joshua Horowitz for his Happy Sad Confused podcast, Gosling shot down rumours that he’s been cast as Nova in the MCU that Marvel had in development with Moon Knight’s Sabir Pirzada.

That project has now been completely abandoned. However, Gosling followed that flat-out denial up with an interesting bit of information. He revealed that he’s actually interested in a Marvel role. He heavily insinuated that he wants to play Johnny Blaze in the MCU. That’s the actual name of Ghost Rider.
So, there’s a new rumour that’s suggesting that Gosling is very close to agreeing to play Ghost Rider in the MCU. According to HolyField News on X, it’s about to happen, and I really hope that this scoop ends up being true because I desperately want Gosling to play the iconic Marvel anti-hero in the MCU!

I really cannot think of anyone better suited for the role. There have been reports that Norman Reedus is also very interested in the role. However, I think that Gosling is a better calibre of actor for the role. I also cannot wait to see the MCU explore Marvel’s darker characters, such as Ghost Rider. It’s already being reported that Marvel Studios is looking to make a Midnight Suns movie, so it would be logical to assume that they are in the process of casting Ghost Rider!
