Robert Pattinson Has Been Officially Cast As The Batman

It’s official guys! Robert Pattinson has been cast as Batman in Matt Reeves’ Batman, and now they just need to cast the rest of the film.

It was revealed a few days ago that Warner Bros. was looking to cast either Robert Pattinson or Nicolas Hoult as Batman in Matt Reeves’ upcoming film starring the Caped Crusader.

There was a lot of umming and ahhing about whether Pattinson would be the right person for the role and I fell down in the ‘R-Pats would be perfect for Batman’ camp.

It was then revealed that Pattinson hadn’t actually been cast yet and that it was either going to be him or fellow British actor, Nicolas Hoult.

As much as I love Hoult in everything he’s been in, I feel that Pattinson has that little something extra which would make him an excellent Batman.

Well, it’s now been confirmed via Deadline that R-Pats has signed on the dotted line and that he’ll star in what will be a new Batman trilogy.

Robert Pattinson in Life

Pattinson’s latest film, High Life, is in select cinemas now and people have been raving about his performance both in that, and the upcoming horror film from The Witch’s Robert Eggers, called The Lighthouse.

He’ll star in The Lighthouse alongside Willem Dafoe and Pattinson’s performance has been receiving rave reviews from the Cannes Film Festival.

He’ll also be seen in Christopher Nolan’s next film, Tenet, but not much is known yet about that film.

As for Reeves’ Batman film, it’s reportedly going to be a Noire-triller type film which “tracks Bruce Wayne in the formative stages of Batman,” and it’ll see him be more like a detective than a superhero.

This is what I love to hear because we’ve never really seen Batman the detective on the big screen and they don’t call him the world’s greatest detective for nothing in the comics.

Ideally, I’d love to see Reeves take elements from The Long Halloween in which Batman has to track down a dangerous serial killer. I love that comic book and really think it would translate well to the big screen.

Hopefully, they’ll reveal who’ll be playing The Penguin and Catwoman soon, both who are reportedly going to be in the movie.
