Amazon Prime series The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power Season 2 adds more cast members coming from other famous franchises like Star Wars, James Bond and the DCEU. Casting is in high gear for The Lord of the Rings TV series.
Ever since December of 2022, Amazon has been adding more actors to the show. Gabriel Akuwudike, Yasen ‘Zates’ Atour, Ben Daniels, Amelia Kenworthy, Nia Towle, Nicholas Woodeson, Oliver Alvin-Wilson, Stuart Bowman, Gavi Singh Chera, William Chubb, Kevin Eldon, Will Keen, Selina Lo, and Calam Lynch were all added to the second season.
This is already on top of the huge returning cast of actors. The series, while not part of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings films, has stood out on its own. Moreover, while viewers have mixed feelings about the show, especially since the series doesn’t follow the proper timeline to shorten the time gaps, it’s still considered a very good show in most respects.
It is also currently considered the most expensive series ever made, with each episode costing $58 million. The Rings of Power has already been nominated and has won several awards. So, the cost of the show wasn’t for nothing.

It is interesting that Amazon is still adding more actors in the middle of filming. The Rings of Power Season 2 already started shooting back on October 3, 2022.
Amazon Studios have moved filming from New Zealand to the UK not only because the Tolkien estate wanted the production to be filmed there, but also because New Zealand has increased the border policies because of the pandemic. The second season will also have eight episodes, like the first one. The release of the new season has no official date yet, but it is expected to come out in 2024.
