Rick And Morty writer, Jeff Loveness, has been tapped to write the script for the upcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty for Marvel Studios. This news comes to us via Deadline, and I think it would be a really good choice of writer. Loveness has written for loads of things: Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Miracle Workers, Rick & Morty and he’s also worked on the script for Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania. So, he has a history of working with Marvel Studios.
Interestingly, the upcoming Ant-Man & The Wasp movie isn’t the only time Loveness has worked with Marvel. Back in March 2015, Loveness wrote a comic series centred around the Marvel Comics character Groot, alongside artist Brian Kesinger. In May 2017, he wrote several comic issues centred around other Marvel characters, including Nova and Spider-Man. So, he’s certainly a writer with a lot of knowledge about all stuff Marvel, and it even seems like his work might have helped shape some of the upcoming projects in the MCU such as I Am Groot.

Loveness will join Destin Daniel Cretton, who was recently revealed as the movie’s director. Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, will be on-board the project as its producer. Marvel had no comment about this news. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has been set of a May 2nd, 2025 release date.
Kang, who will be played by Jonathan Majors in the upcoming MCU movie, was first introduced to the cinematic universe in Loki Season 1. He was actually teased in the penultimate episode, and then we saw more of him the season’s finale. Majors was truly brilliant in the role, and I can’t wait to see what he gets to do next as the iconic Marvel Comics villain.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty was unveiled by Kevin Feige during Marvel’s panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. It was a pretty huge moment, and people couldn’t believe that we’re going to be getting two Avengers movies in the same year: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.
The fact that Loveness just wrote Ant-Man & The Wasp: Qauntumania, which will be the first big MCU movie to show us what Kang is really all about, then it seems like a good decision to write the script for the Avengers film that’s also going to be all about Kang the Conqueror.
