So, we were informed that the people behind the series were going to adapt Die Trying. Turns out that information was wrong as it was revealed that they are actually going to tackle Bad Luck And Trouble, which is the eleventh Reacher book published by the author, Lee Child. This was revealed by the show’s star, Alan Ritchson, on Twitter.

- Release Window: Season 2 is set to premiere in December 2023. This information was sneakily announced during Prime Day, along with a first look at the new season.
- Setting: The new season will have a different setting, moving away from a small town to a bigger city.

So, is there going to be a second season of Reacher on Amazon Prime Video? I’m pretty sure you’ve already gathered that Amazon has greenlit the show for a second season. It’s also been greenlit for a third season, so we’ve got at least two more seasons of Reacher to come. This is actually a series that could go on for years given how many books Lee Child has written over the years. They have a lot of source material to lean on.
This is all very good news, and we were also informed that seasons two and three are going to be filmed back to back. That hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but I hope it does end up being correct. However, as I mentioned before, we were given some misinformation regarding the series.
That does sometimes happen in this industry, which sucks, but we are only as good as our sources, so I do have to hold my hands up and take some of the responsibility. But, the good news is that season two is happening, and they are filming it as we speak. It will see Alan Ritchson return as the titular character, which I am sure that all of the fans of the show will be happy to hear.

So, when will season two be released on Prime Video? That’s not an easy question to answer because the information hasn’t been revealed yet by Amazon. What we do know is that the first season was released in February 2022. The second season started filming on September 23rd, and it’s still filming as we speak. All of this was revealed by Alan Ritchson himself via Instagram. You can check him out (literally, I suppose) in the video he posted below:
All of this means that the second season should be released in 2023. I would say that it would be released between February and July 2023. Yes, that’s a pretty long timeframe to give, but it really does depend on how long the second season takes in post-production. It does sound as though they are going to up the level of action in this second season, which might mean that it’ll take a bit longer to make than the first season did.
Will there be more seasons of Reacher after Season 2?

So, we’ve already revealed that Amazon plans on making at least two more seasons of this new series. This means that we will get to see seasons two and three at least. I have no idea whether they are planning on making more seasons of the show beyond that. I actually think it all depends on two things: whether the second season does better than the first (the first season already performed very well with subscribers), and whether Ritchson can fit in more seasons of the show into his already busy schedule.
The actor is becoming more and more in demand. He’s already signed on to star in Fast 10, which is huge news for him, and I’m sure that more people in Hollywood will be looking at him for their upcoming projects. He’s the perfect action star, and I think he’s going to be very big in the future.

As for what will happen in Reacher Season 2, in the book Bad Luck And Trouble, Jack Reacher investigates the murders of his old military police squad. The show’s creator Nick Santora has already revealed that the second and future seasons of the series will not follow the books chronologically, so expect further seasons to bounce around again. Amazon’s official logline for the season is a bit stronger. Here is it:

So, Season 2 is going to see Reacher out for revenge, and I’m pretty sure it’ll end up being a relatively bloody affair.

It’s a great show but it needs to come out with season 2 and 3 sooner . It’s too hard to wait almost a year to watch another season. We watched this season all in 1 weekend and want more soon. Loved Bosch cause we had 7 seasons and then Legacy which needs more seasons too.
