Punisher Cameo In Daredevil: Born Again Rumored

A Punisher cameo, as played by Jon Bernthal, is being rumored for the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again Disney Plus series. This rumor comes to us via a new Twitter user, and it’s also backed up by an exclusive article we published back in September 2021.

However, this is also not the first time that we’ve heard people talk about Jon Bernthal’s return as Frank Castle in the MCU. The most recent instance of this was Rosario Dawson, who celebrated Bernthal’s return as the character to the MCU.

Rosario Dawson spoke about this during an appearance at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo. The Ahsoka and Daredevil actress gave some really interesting updates regarding Jon Bernthal‘s return to the MCU. Dawson claimed that she was very excited to hear that Frank Castle was returning mainly because that was the only Netflix show where she didn’t appear.

So, it would seem as though Dawson has heard that Disney and Marvel are working on a new series and that it’ll see Jon Bernthal return as Frank Castle. Here’s what she had to say on the matter:

I hadn’t heard that announcement, but I found out yesterday that [it] was happening again. So, I feel like it’s my second chance, because that’s the only one of the shows I wasn’t in and I love Jon Bernthal. So, lets all make it happen collectively guys.

It must be stated that since making this statement, Dawson has since retracted her comments, stating that she has no real idea what’s going on inside of Marvel Studios. Here’s what she had to say (via a Tweet) on her previous statement about Jon Bernthal returning to the MCU:

Jon Bernthal to return as Frank Castle in the MCU

Daredevil: Born Again was unveiled by Marvel President, Kevin Feige, at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. It was announced during Marvel’s panel in Hall H at Comic-Con and it kind of caused the Internet to blow up.

The series is going to see Charlie Cox return as Matt Murdock – aka Daredevil. This was something that fans of this take on the character have been waiting for ever since the Netflix series was cancelled.

We saw Cox return as Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and people loved his very brief cameo. It was a wonderful moment, but it also confirmed that Charlie Cox was the MCU’s Daredevil.

Feige then revealed in an interview that if they were ever to bring the character back to the MCU, he would be played by Charlie Cox. Here’s what he had to say on the matter during his interview with CinemaBlend:

If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil. Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.
