Pierce Brosnan played James Bond for quite a few years back in the 90s and early 2000s. He was the Bond that I grew up with and his take on the character still holds a special place in my heart. However, the actor revealed in a recent interview with GQ Magazine that he really doesn’t care who plays 007 next.
Honestly, I don’t blame him. He’s already been Bond, and I can’t really see why he would care who’s going to play the British secret agent next. Those days are behind him, and I get the feeling that Brosnan cares more about other things. That said, he did do a pretty cool watch along of GoldenEye with his fans online a while back, which was great! I really wish he would do more things like that.

So, what did the iconic 007 actor have to say precisely about who’ll play the spy next? Here’s what he had to say on the matter:
Who should do it? I don’t care.
The actor went on to make it very clear that he has no animosity towards the 007 series. However, he said that he is simply thinking about other things at the moment. The actor added: “It’ll be interesting to see who they get, who the man shall be. Whoever he be, I wish him well.”
Pierce Brosnan then added that he has actually watched a few of the latest Bong movies. He revealed that he watched two of Daniel Craig’s movies: Skyfall and No Time To Die. However, he also added that he skipped Spectre, which was probably for the best. “I saw [No Time to Die] and I saw Skyfall,” Brosnan said.
He then added that he wasn’t overly keen on Craig’s final outing as 007. “I love Skyfall. I’m not too sure about the last one. Daniel always gives of his heart. Very courageous, very strong.”

It was recently revealed that the Bond producers are now casting the next 007, and they also revealed that they want the next actor to be fully committed to the role for more than a decade. They are also looking for the franchise’s next director. Skyfall and Spectre director Sam Mendes recently gave his opinion on who he would like to see direct Bond next.
“I think that the actor playing Bond is going to evolve, the director has to evolve,” Mendes said. “I think it would be wonderful to see a woman directing Bond. I think it would be wonderful.”
I have a feeling that the next actor to play Bond will be one of the youngest actors ever cast in the role. It sounds as though the producers want someone who can play the role for years to come, which means that he won’t be in his mid-thirties like the previous actors cast in the role were when they were initially cast as 007. It’s a big deal, and I can’t wait to find out who’ll get the role.
