Penn Badgley could be the man to play Mr Fantastic (aka Reed Richards) in the upcoming Fantastic Four Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie. You can now check out what he would look like at the iconic Marvel character thanks to BossLogic on Instagram. BossLogic came up with some pretty incredible artwork which features Penn Badgley as Reed Richards in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie.
There have been rumours that the star of Netflix’s You series is in line to play Reed Richards in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. These are just rumours at the moment. However, I do like this fan casting. Penn is a really good actor, and if you’ve watched You on Netflix, then you’ll know how good he really is. BossLogic has now taken those casting rumours and gave us our first look at what Badgley would look like should he be cast as Reed Richards in the MCU movie. BossLogic, however, doesn’t seem to think that Penn Badgley would be the best candidate for the role. He seems to think that he would make a better Doctor Doom. Here’s what BossLogic had to say on the matter via his Instagram caption:
Joe Goldberg is pretty smart….. #Fantasticfour. I think he would play a Better Dr. Doom. I don’t really see him as Reed.
I actually think he would be a really good shout for Doctor Doom. However, I have a feeling that Marvel might be looking at other actors for that role. Perhaps they might be looking at slightly older actors for the villain role. There have been rumours that Giancarlo Esposito has been in talks for the role. I’m not sure how I feel about that particular casting rumour. As far as Reed Richards is concerned, I would like to see a younger, and slightly less well-known name be cast in the role.

There have been a bunch of names tied to the Reed Richards role. One of the big names out there connected to the role has been John Krasinski. This is, of course, because he played Reed in the recent Doctor Strange sequel. I thought he was great in the role, but I would like to see someone slightly younger in the role. Incidentally, we were informed that Marvel was looking at younger, lesser-known actors for their first Fantastic Four movie.
All of this comes after it was revealed that Marvel has been in talks with WandaVision director, Matt Shakman to direct the Fantastic Four movie. After this news was put out there, it was revealed that Shakman stepped down as the director of the next Star Trek movie. I’m pretty sure we’re going to learn more about this movie at the upcoming D23 event. That’s when we’re really going to know what’s going on with this film. The movie’s been in a state of flux after it was revealed that Jon Watts – who was the film’s original director – stepped down from the project. He cited “creative differences” as his reason for leaving the project.
