Patty Jenkins Is Directing Star Wars Movie Rogue Squadron

It’s just been announced that Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984 director, Patty Jenkins is directing a new Star Wars movie, called Rogue Squadron. This was announced by Kathleen Kennedy at the Disney Investor Call this evening.

I honestly cannot believe how much stuff’s been coming out of this Investor’s Call. It’s just madness, and this is something I really wasn’t expecting. I did not think for one second that Kathleen Kennedy would go ahead and hire Patty Jenkins to make a new Star Wars movie.

It’s something that fans have been calling for for ages, and it’s just so good that they’ve gone ahead and done it. Rogue Squadron sounds like it’ll be based on the video game that was recently released. However, that’s not confirmed.

It was then announced that this movie would be released on Christmas 2023, which means that it’ll most likely be Patty Jenkins’ next movie. She’s finished making Wonder Woman 1984, which is coming to HBO Max and cinemas on Christmas day this year.

It’s going to be a very busy time for Patty Jenkins moving forward, but I’m pretty sure that fans will be desperate to see her Star Wars movie when it finally comes in 2023. Kathleen Kennedy also revealed that Taika Waititi is currently working on the script for his Star Wars movie.

She didn’t reveal a title for his Star Wars movie, but she did say that it would bring his unique and fresh take on the Star Wars universe, which is something I cannot wait to see.
