No Fantastic Four Casting News At D23

Fantastic Four casting news didn’t come at D23, which is what we were hoping for! The movie did have a presence at D23 Expo this year, but there was no casting news for the movie, which is super sad if you ask me. It was revealed officially that the movie is going to be directed by Matt Shakman. That was revealed by Kevin Feige at D23 Expo. However, that was basically all the news they had about the movie.

Kevin Feige revealed that he had no other news about the movie to share until D23 in 2023. That’s a long time to wait before we get to hear who’s going to be in this movie. There were rumours that the movie was going to star John Krasinski as Reed Richards. Krasinski played Richards in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. However, it seems as though he might be returning to play the role in the MCU Fantastic Four movie.

So, the rumours were that the likes of Jodie Comer and John Krasinski might have been revealed at the event. However, they didn’t turn up. There were event rumours that Henry Cavill might have had a role in the movie. These are all just rumours at this point. The movie was originally supposed to be directed by Jon Watts. He left the project due to “creative differences”. However, they now have WandaVision director, Matt Shakman helming the project.

I really cannot wait to watch the movie when it’s finally released. One other casting rumour about this movie that I really did love was Penn Badgely as Reed Richards. I love him in Netflix’s You series, and I think he has the right look for the role. Fingers crossed that one does happen. I also like Jodie Comer for Sue Storm. But, none of this has been confirmed, yet.
